While I was filling up with gas yesterday a Mustang pulled up to the pump opposite of me. It was a lowered (slammed but no negative camber in the rear) face-lifted previous gen Mustang like the one pictured directly below with BBS LMs. It was so wrong yet so right. I liked it so much. In fact, I loved it. I want a slammed Mustang now (I would do air suspension to keep the safety and drivability of course). Come at me, Oppo.
The new Mustang also looks oh so good too. (I am aware that is a shopped image)
I need it.

Solid live axle in the back means the camber never changes.

There is grey one that looks just like your first pic but without the front lip and about .5in higher that I see at school all the time and it makes me HHHHHGGGGGGG!!!

Okay, real confession time. Before I fell head over heels in love with the e46 M3, I actually really wanted a Mustang from that vintage. I remember thinking the “MUSTANG” stamped into the back bumper looked so cool (hey, I was a small kid, what did I know?).

Would I personally own one? No... But that’s because I’m not much of a Mustang guy. Do I wish the people I know with Mustangs would do this? Oh hell yes.

Hold up, really? I seriously did not know that. Could you explain that? Is it because both wheels are mounted through the central fulcrum? I’m genuinely curious.

Nope. They look good on every damn thing. You could stick them on a horse and they’d still look good.

I’m of the same opinion as you. I wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to drive or have a slammed Mustang but I know I’d probably get bored of it really quickly and then get enamored with something else. That wouldn’t be a wise or economical decision for me.

It’s a solid axle tube. No CV joint that would allow articulation for negative camber.

It’s a not well kept secret that I love lowered anything. Hell, If I had a Raptor I would definitely be considering bagging it. I want to bag the GTO, I lowered my S197. I love low.
Guess I’m out now, huh...

I just want a 90's Lexus LS400 on bags. Because the 1UZ sound is absolutely fantastic.
Quiet rumble on the low end with a really nice raspy note at WOT

Yes, I love lowered cars also!
I never really liked the styling of the Mustang until the current year. I would do coilovers though because race car and save the air bags for my slammed wagon and or shop mini truck that lays frame as the kids say.

Oh god yes. VIP Lexus. I NEED ONE SO BAD.
There’s a VIP LS400 that looks almost exactly like the top video at the bakery near where I work. It even has the passenger tray, curtains and extended exhaust tips to finish off the look. I’ll have to remember to take a pic when I go back there.

I want a full on VIP Lexus. With two tone paint, matching wheels, and stupid low. And make the floors awesome. Either wood or carbon fiber. Like old truck beds with the metal strips running down them. That’s what I want the floor to be.
Something like this with a dark wood or carbon fiber and brushed metal strips.

Wohoo! Lowered cars are awesome!
I would love to do coilovers since they’d handle better and be cheaper (if you don’t go full Moton or Öhlins). The only issue is around here the shopping centers have outrageous entries that would destroy the bottom of a slammed car.

Yeah I have been planning my next car for some time now and I know what you mean. That’s the nice thing about an air ride suspension and I have read that some of them handle “just as well as coilovers” but I am not sure about that.
I hopefully can get “my new car” this year and I am probably going to go with some lowering springs designed for the stock struts and dampers at first. I have a really steep entry to my driveway and am slightly worried about it. I would only be going down an inch or so from stock so I should be alright.

Nice! What are you planning if you don’t mind my asking?
I can believe the handling is almost on the same level as coilovers but their reliability is what I question. Especially with hard track use.

I am about 90% sold on a new WRB Subaru BRZ. Manual transmission of course and the higher of the two trim levels since I have always wanted a push button start. It reminds me of the time I was working a vallet job years ago and got a M6 when they were brand new couldn’t figure out how to get it started ha ha.
Since I will be keeping it for a long time the plan is this: tentatively
Stage 1
Wheels & Tires (bronze Enkei RPF1 and some Michelin PSS)
Lowering springs, front camber bolts, rear lower control arms
Cat back exhaust
Replace the ugly stock spoiler with a duck tail
Stage 2
One of the California smog legal supercharger kits
Light aero mods (front splitter rear diffuser)
Coilovers

NICE! I agree with the duck tail swap. They just work on the rear end of the BRZ. Sounds like you have a solid plan. Those mods look like they’d make the BRZ a hoot and a half to drive.

I especially love the yellow fogs behind the grille. He’s thinking of painting the wheels gold to make it somewhat Hertz GT-H inspired

Me too. They look so right. I’d be interested to see how that looks. Personally, I would have chosen bronze to keep it dark yet still have contrast.

He might be going for more of a bronze, I can’t remember for sure. I just know it’s supposed to be Hertz inspired.

The wheel hubs are fixed perpendicular to the solid axle tube.

The GTs aren’t the fastest things in the world, but they make a great noise, and when lowered on good shocks and springs, and with some mild chassis bracing, can handle shockingly well.

Those are my favorite generation. Partly because thats what I have. I recently lowered mine, but not rediculously. Also I’m not sure how easy it would be to put negative camber on a live rear axle. Here’s another cool slammed Stang.
